This weekend I met up with a member of an online photography forum I frequent. He'd driven over from Sydney on vacation, so we met up and spent the day walking around Fremantle & Perth taking photos. I though I'd put a page together showing off this little corner of the world.

The Indian Ocean. In the background you can see Garden Island, home of Stirling Naval Base. Behind that is Africa. (More or less)

Youth crime is on the rise. The state government has implemented drastic measures to punish young hoodlums.
(Don't forget Fremantle was a penal colony originally :-)

The port of Fremantle is the economic gateway of W.A. But not all the ships that visit carry trade goods. Quite often there are cruise ships & navel vessels from various countries in port. Greenpeaces' "Rainbow Warrior" was in harbor this day.
