Glenormiston Adare 1726 (Int) (Connemara pony)
Grey (born dun) 3/10/2000Glenormiston Clementine (Int)
Adare came to us from the Glenormiston Connemara Pony Stud in Queensland.
She is very calm to handle and smooth to ride. She is from an excellent performance family: although a pony, her father, Praize, evented in open competition and was never unplaced. Praize died recently at the age of 30 and we are fortunate to have been able to buy one of his fillies. Her mother, Glenormiston Clementine, is also an experienced and successful performance pony.
Adare's 2006 foal is a lovely, huge, big-boned filly, Powderbark Aislinn, by Glenormiston Fibber McGee. We are keeping Aislinn for our stud.

Adare has had limited show experience because she has been busy raising foals. Her very first show was the 2005 Perth Royal Show where she performed happily and perfectly despite the distractions of sideshows, people, noise, bulls, showjumping and so on (see her Royal Show photo above).
Adare is our "operatic" pony. She has a very musical voice and can whinney loudly and softly using a huge range of high and low tones. She also has a wide range of voices and sounds for talking to us and to her foal.
This year Adare is again in foal to Glenormiston Fibber McGee, and their foal, a brother or sister for Aislinn, is due in December.

Cloonshee came to us from the Glenormiston Connemara Pony Stud in Queensland as an 18 month old filly. She has a perfect temperament and a wonderful personality and is bold and interested in everything around her. Her exploits - ranging from "helping" with the washing up and laundry to trying to ride a bicycle or hide in the hen house - are already well known, and she has her own fan club around the world.
Cloonshee is a "ride and drive" pony as well as a brood mare. She enjoys bush rides and has performed well at shows. She is always in demand for pony rides and children's parties. At the recent W.A.A.G. Show Cloonshee managed to win Champion mare, Champion led jumper and Champion led novelties despite being 9 months pregnant and working in torrential rain.
Cloonshee has now had three foals by Glenormiston Fibber McGee, Powderbark Rafferty (now sold to a great home), Powderbark Rose, whom we are keeping for our stud, and her most recent colt, and Powderbark Chifley (now sold to a great home).

Leonie came to us as a successful brood mare in foal to the outstanding young endurance-bred arab stallion, West Coast Acheron. The foal, Mr Charisma (now sold to a lovely home) has good looks and an excellent temperament and Leonie has proved to be an excellent, caring, patient mother. She has a very sweet temperament as well as good looks.
(Read more about West Coast Acheron on the West Coast Arabians Home Page)
With her height (16 hands) and her attractive looks and temperament Leonie is an ideal mare for cross breeding with connemara ponies to produce horses which retain the desirable pony agility and temperament while providing extra height and endurance. Leonie's foals by Glenormiston Fibber McGee are Powderbark Matilda Bay (2005) and Powderbark Reilly (2007). Both are double registered as connemara sport ponies and part bred arabians. We have retained Matilda Bay for our stud. Reilly is for sale and will be available when weaned in May.
Leonie is always happiest running with other mares and with Fibber. She loves Fibber very much (whether or not she is in season) and it is always entertaining to see her wind her neck around and over him from her 16 hands height, while he smugly accepts her embraces two hands below!
Leonie is in foal again to Glenormiston Fibber McGee and their foal, a brother or sister to Powderbark Matilda Bay, is due in October 2008.

Sadie has been leased from the Lanaryn Stud for this breeding season. Sadie has about 50% Crabbet bloodlines and has been very successful shown in hand. Her father, Yamegi Hulin, is a highly versatile horse with an excellent temperament - see his profile on the Lanaryn Arabians home page.
Sadie's foal, Powderbark Morocco, by Glenormiston Fibber McGee was born in November 2007 with Barry as a reluctant midwife. Sadie is a wonderful, experienced mare and all went very well. Sadie's foal is double registered as a connemara sport pony and an arabian pony.
