Episode 23 - Mission: Rescue Kara part 1

Annaka, Steel, Kane and Lana trudged through the ruins of what remains of the city that once was filled with life. Annaka pulled out her tracking device, turned it on and started detecting demons.
Kane: Where is Kara being kept?
Annaka: I got a pretty good idea where she is. There is only one building left that the demons would resort to using. The Death Tower. It’s heavily guarded and full of alarm systems. We must be careful. It’s a maze once you get inside. There are like 45 levels.
Lana: Do we have to go up all those levels?
Annaka: Yes most likely.
Steel: Lets go then.
They crept through the streets. They soon hid when Annaka picked up some demons wondering about the streets. The demons soon sensed where Annaka and the others were hiding and opened fire. Annaka and the others rushed along shooting back at the demons as they dodged car wrecks.
Annaka: Hurry this way.
They continued running along. They soon dashed into a run down building and crept through there. The Death Tower was out in the centre of the dismantled town. Annaka soon came across the remains of a solider that was in her squad. They stopped as Annaka reached down and picked up a head.
Annaka: Oh...
Kane: Annaka what's wrong.
Steel and Lana looked about the building, which had body parts of cyborgs littered on the floor.
Lana: Was this your crew Annaka?
Annaka: These are people I knew. My family lived here before the war broke out. As you can see they didn't make it.
Annaka put the head back down Kane hugged her. It was then they heard a loud explosion outside as the demons had a tank and were blasting the building they were in.
Steel: We’ve got to go!!!
Steel grabbed Lana and they all ran out as the metal and concrete came crashing down on to the floor. Annaka soon found the way out. They rushed out as the building crashed down behind them. They continued running, then more demon soldiers opened fire and Kane and the others fired back as they rushed towards the centre of the city.
Kane: Annaka may I ask, have you ever been through this Death Tower?
They soon hid and looked out towards the tall steel towering skyscraper. Annaka reloaded her weapons, as did the others.
Annaka: Kane in answer to your question, there is a reason why it’s called that.
Lana: Why?
Annaka: Cause who ever enters it, they are never to return.
Steel: Why?
Annaka: Because it’s full of traps, some lead to other places that even aren't here. It’s kind of the main meeting centre for the gateways for time travelling. I have never been to the top.
Kane: Great. That helps.
They soon approached the building. They noticed more guards on the beat. Annaka and the others needed a way in. Meanwhile Kara is still being held hostage.
Kara: Let me go!!!! Please let me out of here.
It was then the demon returned. Kara saw the beast and she freaked out. Yoshi turned and looked at Kara and smiled evilly.
Kara: Yo.. Yoshi...
Yoshi: That's me. I can finally kill your sister and your friends.
Kara: What? You work.. for.. the
Yoshi: Demons. Yes. I almost had Lana, as my own. Now after she has beaten me to a pulp, I can seek my revenge on her.
Kara: No you can’t kill my sister!!!
Yoshi soon left the room and ventured into the control room. There are several cameras watching the building floor by floor. He sat down and looked at them.
Yoshi: They should be in here somewhere.
Kane, Lana, and Steel followed Annaka through the building lobby.
Annaka: We have to keep low this place is full of cameras, guards and stuff.
Annaka soon spotted a camera and shot it down. Yoshi noticed that camera #1 was out and soon the screens on the bottom floor went blank.
Yoshi: Grrr they’re in here.  I’m sure they will find a way to reach the top.
Yoshi got up and went to the room where Kara was being kept. Yoshi dispatched some more demons after the intruders.
Annaka: Quick get into the lift now!!!
They rushed in and closed the doors. Annaka had been carrying a bag inside it had a bomb. Steel and the others freaked out when she showed it to them.
Steel: What are you planning on doing?
Annaka: We will cut the lift cables and it will blow the bottom half of the building to keep the other demons from coming in.
Annaka soon stopped the lift. She settled the bomb and opened the vent at the top of the lift and climbed out.
Kane: So all you could have done is use the lift to reach the top floor.
Annaka: It’s not that easy Kane. Remember this place is full of traps. This lift doesn’t go to the 45th floor.
Lana: That’s weird.
Annaka: Yes this whole building is weird. Now get up here now.
Lana, Kane and Steel climbed on top. Annaka soon got a hold of the lift wires and had planned to cut them.
Lana: Wait a second how are we going to get off here?
Annaka: Grab the cables now!!!
They all grabbed a hold of it as Annaka cut the cables and sent the lift flying down the shaft while they flew upwards.
Steel: How are we going to get off here?
Annaka: We have to swing to a door ledge.
Kane: Wait I got a better idea and we better do it fast.
Lana: What?
Kane: We can teleport!!!
Steel: You think you can do that?
Kane: We have to!!
Lana, Kane grabbed a hold of Annaka and Steel and concentrated hard as they were soon running out of shaft. They soon focused their energy onto the 45th floor. They soon started to shimmer away just as the wire hit the end of the shaft. They soon appeared again to hear the blast below them shake the building’s lower floors.
Kane: Great it worked.
Lana: How did you know you could do that?
Kane: Cause Gen-fang told me. The more we fight and ascend levels, the more we pick up new powers.
Annaka: Guys…bad news…this isn’t the 45th floor.
Steel: How do you…?
Annaka: I’ve been this far inside the building and I never ascended past the 43rd floor. This is the 43rd floor.
They soon heard some noises as then the hall soon became filled with laser beams. Kane, Lana, Annaka and Steel were stuck, as they had to move carefully through. In the security room Yoshi had returned to see them stuck on 43rd floor. Yoshi: Lets see if they can get through this. Meanwhile at Gen-fang’s temple, Gen-fang, Sheba and Ginul watched as the team were trapped inside the building.
Sheba: Isn’t there anything we can do? They’re stuck!!!
Gen-fang: No they will solve it themselves.
Ginul: Gen please don’t let them die!!!
Gen-fang: Girls!!! Stop panicking!!!
Gen-fang was soon being shaken by both of the girls in vain as Gen-fang’s staff soon whacked them both in the head.
Gen-fang: Gee you two you don’t have much faith in them do you?
Sheba: Youch
Ginul: I think I busted a nail.
Gen-fang watched the mirror at Kane and the others. They can only count on them to make it through and save Kara from her terrible fate.
