Macromedia DreamWeaver MX
FTP information for connection to the Arachnet server

1. Open the Macromedia Dreamweaver MX program.

2. From the top menu select: Sites -> Edit sites.

3. Select the site that you wish to upload and then Edit.

4. In the Advanced tab - Local Info: ensure that your details have
been entered.
Site Name: Your Site Name
Local Root Folder: Path to your website on your own computer
tick - Refresh Local File List Automatically
select - Default Images Folder - Path to your website's images
directory on your own computer.
provide - the HTTP Address - live website url
tick - Enable Cache

5. In the Remote Info: ensure that your details have been entered.
Access: FTP
FTP Host: ftp.arach.net.au
Host Directory: /htdocs
[note: some older hosted sites may need to use /yourdomainname.com.au]
Login: yourdomainname.com.au
Password: ********
tick - Save your password for convenience
tick - Use Passive FTP
Leave all other settings unticked unless you specifically require
these.
Click the Test Button once your settings are in to see if you can
connect correctly.

If you have a successful connection you'll receive the reply
dialogue above, otherwise some form of error message will appear,
with a rough indication of what is wrong. Please check your settings
correctly, type your password in again and then try once again.

6. Click OK and then Done to get out of the Edit view

7. From the top menu select: Sites -> Site Files (F8) to open the
Files: Site panel if it isn't already open.

8. Expand this view to see it full screen with both local and remote
views by clicking on the expand/collapse icon.

9. Connect to the Arachnet remote server by clicking on the
"Connects to Remote Host" icon (looks like plug being connected).

10. Once you are connected you will be able to see both the local
and remote sites side by side.

11. Then select the files that you may wish to Put (upload) from
your local computer or Get (download) from the remote server.

12. You are able to right click or use the buttons on the top of
the window to control your upload/downloading.
