SWEET BABY JESUS (J. Algeri)

Oh my God, a vaguely traditional Xmas song! Have a jingle jangle yuletide with lyrics your parents and kids can listen to.

Joe sang, played acoustic guitar, organ, tambourine and gave the sound engineer the afternoon off. This year's guest list includes:

LARS BRUSELL - keyboard, glockenspiel (Sweden)
MAGNUS KARLSSON - 6 string Rickenbacker (Sweden)
HERB EIMERMAN - 12 string Rickenbacker, vocals (USA)
STEFAN JOHANSSON - jingle bells (Sweden)

Here's the story straight from the horse's mouth:

A copped a fair bit of abuse for Cindy Brady last year after lovingly and painstakingly spending hundreds of hours recording it. This year I thought I'd try something without any references to sex, drugs and/or violence. For the benefit of the other musicians, I thought I'd also try something without tempo, timing and and/or key changes. Well I tried. The title was inspired by the Will Farris prayer in "Talladega Nights".
I'm well pleased with the result. It was definitely worhtwhile all of us flying to Hawaii to record I thought, where shall we go next year guys? This year we welcome to the circle of trust, my friend Herb who is also our first US contributor. Thanks for your sweet sounds Herb (and for supplying the cigars after the session)! Cheers,
Joe

ALL I WANT FOR XMAS (IS CINDY BRADY) (J. Algeri) [ * mental health services mix 2001 ]

And last year was really off the deep end... Yes, Sherwood Schwartz is still alive and nerds like Joe are buying DVDs of Gilligan's Island and the Brady Bunch to relive their childhood and/or be total sickos.

The 2007 magnum opus is a collaboration featuring:

JOE ALGERI - acoustic guitar, all vocals, bass, slide guitar, sampling (Australia)
LARS BRUSELL - keyboards, alto melodica, spoken word (Sweden)

YULETIDE HEROINE BLUES (J. Algeri)

The 2006 effort is the most unlikely Xmas song about the most unlikely couple. If you're after some Yuletide cheer then look for Bing Crosby instead. The recording cast included Joe with the help of:

LARS BRUSELL - drums, bass, heavy guitars (Sweden)
MAGNUS KARLSSON - jangly guitar (Sweden)
DAVE PATMAN- vocals (Aust)
KEVIN BORRUSO - vocals (Aust)
STUART LOASBY - vocals (Aust)
ANTHONY SPINELLI - vocals (Aust)

I SAW SANTA WITH A GUN (J. Algeri / L. Brusell)

Recorded in 2002 and still everyone's favourtie. Like all the Xmas songs here people either love it or really hate it.

THE WHITE SNOW OF FINLAND (J. Algeri) [ * drunk town hall mix ]

Not a Xmas song but probably one you haven't heard. Recorded in Joe's lounge on Sunday 30th September 2007 (with the furniture pushed up against the walls) using:

- 1 X Rode NT1 microphone

- 1 x 700ml bottle of Jim Beam (Black label)

- 1 x former Jack drummer (Jason Barfoot + brushes)
